The main things I look at for glasses are frame weight, hinge quality and lens coating. Forums, blogs and communities create a kind of collective memory for shoppers. I also think about how easy it is to track a parcel once it ships.

On the other hand, a well made pair of glasses can last a long time and feel comfortable all day. Sometimes customer service can fix a bad experience, but not always. Whenever I find something that actually works well, I tend to reorder it later. Sometimes one good quality item is better than five very cheap ones. I prefer simple designs that do not depend only on heavy filters in the pictures. Comfort around the heel and toes is more important than super fancy design. A simple pair of glasses or a basic jacket that always works is worth a lot.
